| 释义 | 業務守則／工作守則 A code that provides guidance to industry on a particular matter, usually in relation to health and safety issues. A code of practice is usually not binding at law. It is only a standard, specification or practical guidance issued by the authority stipulating the acceptable conduct or practice in relation to a particular trade, business or industry. In Hong Kong, many government departments as well as government related organisations are authorised by law to issue codes of practice. For example, the code of practice issued by the Privacy Commission under the Personal Data Privacy Ordinance (Cap 486), and the workplace code of practice issued under Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance (Cap 509). Trade and commerce - In the context of trade and commerce, a code of practice provides guidelines and directions for that particular trade to follow and adhere to as a matter of good trading and commercial practice. A code of practice does not have any legal binding effect. For example, the Broadcasting Authority may issue Codes of Practice relating to the standards of programmes and advertisements transmitted by the holder of a license for satellite television services or satellite sound services: Satellite Television Code of Practice on Programme Standards for Services Primarily Targeting Hong Kong.
