| 释义 | 申請 The act of making a request. Family law - The party who instigates proceedings under Matrimonial Causes Rules (Cap 179A) r 9. This is done by filing an application seeking orders from the Court. If the other party files an answer and cross-application seeking orders relating to another cause of action then he or she becomes a cross-applicant, otherwise the other party is a respondent. In relation to an application for dissolution of a marriage the parties can be joint applicants: r 12. See also Answer; Dissolution ; Dissolved marriage; Respondent. Practice and procedure - 1. A request to a court, tribunal, or other body or decision-maker. An application to a court is usually made by summons, notice of motion or petition supported by affidavits. The application does not plead the material facts but merely sets out the relief sought. Most jurisdictions require applications to be in accordance with the rules but the court does have a discretion to grant leave to a party to make the application orally. 2. The use of something, usually money or assets, for a purpose.
