An offence contrary to the Road Traffic Ordinance (Cap 374) and its subsidiary legislation. For example, it is an offence to drive dangerously or carelessly: Road Traffic Ordinance (Cap 374) ss 37, 38. Further examples are causing death by dangerous driving (s 36), driving a motor vehicle under the influence of drink or drugs (s 39), driving in excess of the speed limit (s 41), driving without a licence (s 42), obtaining a licence, or driving, while disqualified (s 44), tampering with motor vehicles (s 49) and interfering with traffic signs or road markings (s 50).
