| 释义 | 呈交應訴書 1.Through counsel or in person, coming to court as party to a suit. 2. The voluntary submission to a court’s jurisdiction. The acknowledgment of service by the defendant must prima facie be treated as a submission by him to the jurisdiction of the court in the proceedings: The Rules of High Court (Cap 4A) O12 r 8(7), although it will not have this effect if the acknowledgment is withdrawn with the leave of the court or the defendant applies in due time and form disputing the court’s jurisdiction. If the defendant fails to return the form of acknowledgment of service at all, he will be treated as having submitted to the court’s jurisdiction and as having waived any objectionable irregularity. 3. Failure to enter an appearance may result in a judgment being entered against a party. Similarly, if the appearance is not entered within the time, judgment may be entered against a party.
