| 释义 | 增長／增加 Lat – accresco – to grow or increase. Real property - 1.Increase, accumulation or growth. 2. The process by which the area of a piece of land is increased by natural forces. Under the common law doctrine of accretion, there is a rebuttable presumption that if any dry land or foreshore is increased by gradual and imperceptible receding of the sea or inland water, such increase in the dry land or foreshore belongs to owner of the foreshore (if the increase above the low-water mark). Such a doctrine is rebutted by a provision in the Government lease which reserves the right of the Government to reclaim all or any of foreshore and seabed surrounding the lot and that the grantee shall have no right to any compensation whether under the Foreshore and Sea-bed (Reclamations) Ordinance (Cap 127) or otherwise in respect of such reclamation.
