释义 | 投資 To outlay money in acquisition of some species of property with the expectation of a financial return through interest, profit or capital gain: IRC v Rolls-Royce Ltd [1944] 2 All ER 340 (HC). In a will, to ‘invest’ includes to purchase property to be held for the sake of the income which it will yield: Re Wragg, Wragg v Palmer [1919] 2 Ch 58. However, in the absence of special indication, a mere deposit of money at a bank is inadequate to constitute a ‘pecuniary investment’, whether or not that account generates interest: Re Price, Price v Newton [1905] 2 Ch 55.
