| 释义 | 異常 Incorrect, deviate from the norm, markedly different. It usually refers to a decision, of a judge, of a tribunal, council or board. If a decision is found to be aberrant, it will be set aside. A decision will have the appearance of being aberrant if it is markedly out of line with decisions which the decision-maker regularly makes on the topic: Pearl Securities Ltd v Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Ltd [1999] 1 HKC 448. An appellate court ought not to interfere with the discretion of a trial judge unless his decision is aberrant.
