释义	宣告某人為私生 The act of declaring a person to be a bastard or illegitimate. The common law is against the bastardisation of a child because there is a strong presumption of legitimacy of those born in wedlock and such a presumption could only be rebutted on a proof beyond reasonable doubt: Preston-Jones v Preston-Jones [1951] AC 391, 1 All ER 124 (HL). However the common law position has since been modified by legislation and the presumption of legitimacy is now rebuttable on a balance of probabilities: Parent and Child Ordinance (Cap 429) s 5(2).
