| 释义 | 大西洋航運條款 In arbitration, a provision in the agreement between the parties wherein all claims are barred unless such a claim is expressed in writing and an arbitrator is appointed within a limited time period: Atlantic Shipping & Trading Co Ltd v Louis Dreyfus & Co [1922] 2 AC 250 (HL). The clause effectively bars any claim which is made after the expiry of the stated period. The court or an arbitral tribunal however, depending on the circumstances causing a delay, may extend the time for commencing arbitration proceedings: Arbitration Ordinance (Cap 341) ss 2GD, 2GE.
