释义 | 疏忽 To pay no attention to. Social welfare and services - In relation to a child, failure to make adequate arrangements for the care and nurturing of the child, such as the provision of adequate and proper food, nursing, clothing, medical aid or lodging, particularly where the child is in a person’s care and the person is under a legal obligation to do so (such as a parent or custodian of the child). See also Child abuse; ill-treatment. Tort - To fail to perform a duty or obligation; to omit or fail to do something through carelessness or negligence. The term’s precise meaning depends upon context. A failure to exercise reasonable care has been described as a form of ‘neglect’: Grein v Imperial Airways Ltd [1937] 1 KB 50.
