释义 | 不兌現通知 A notice given in writing, or by personal communication, by the holder or indorser liable on the bill of exchange or promissory note at the time of giving, intimating that the instrument has been dishonoured by non-acceptance or non-payment: Bills of Exchange (Cap 19) s 49(e). The notice is given to the drawer and each indorser: s 49(c). It may be given as soon as the bill is dishonoured and must be given within a reasonable time thereafter: s 49(l). Notice of dishonour is dispensed with where the delay is caused by circumstances beyond the control of the party giving notice, and not imputable to his default, misconduct, or negligence: s 50(1); Lukin Ltd v Collins Industrial Co Ltd [1985] 2 HKC 39 (HC).
