A term used to describe a new issue of shares in relation to shares already issued: for example, Companies Ordinance (Cap 32) s 65A(2). Subject to the provisions of the Bankruptcy Ordinance, all debts proved in the bankruptcy shall be paid pari passu: Bankruptcy Ordinance (Cap 6) s 38(8).
