Coercion, extortion, exaction or use of force.
Contract - To compel a person to agree to something involuntarily. Compulsion in contract law includes every species of duress, actual or threatened. A contract made under compulsion is at very least voidable, and may perhaps be void: North Ocean Shipping Co Ltd v Hyundai Construction Co Ltd, The Altantic Baron [1978] 3 All ER 1170, [1979] QB 705; Atlas Express Ltd v Kafco (Importers and Distributors) Ltd [1989] 1 All ER 641, QB 833.
