释义	損失證明 In insurance law, a contractual requirement which imposes on an insured the burden of proof that a loss has taken place and provision of details and evidence of the loss sustained when making a claim. In requiring proofs or in deciding as to their sufficiency, the insurers must not act capriciously; they must be satisfied with such proofs as would satisfy reasonable men: London Guarantie Co v Fearnley (1880) 5 App Cas 911 (HL). In certain cases strict proof may be required, for example, in burglary: Regina Fur Co Ltd v Bossom [1958] 2 Lloyd’s Rep 425 (CA). The assured may be required to verify the claim by a statutory declaration: Watts v Simmons (1924) 18 LI L Rep 177.
