释义	Torrens 業權 A system of land title where a register of land holdings guarantees indefeasible title to land included in the register. It is a system introduced by Sir Robert Torrens into South Australia, and has now been followed or adapted into many commonwealth countries. The system gives title by registration, as opposed to the old system, which depends on proof of an unbroken chain of title back to a good root of title, which is still applicable in Hong Kong. A similar title registration system was introduced in England by Land Registration Act 1925, and it became compulsory to register all dealings with land: Nield Hong Kong Land Law (2nd Ed, Longman) ch 4 pp 74-75.
