| 释义 | 堂兄弟姊妹／表兄弟姊妹 A child of the brother or sister of a person’s mother or father. The child of a person’s uncle or aunt may be called a ‘first cousin’. The child of a first cousin or one’s parents’ first cousin is known as ‘first cousin once removed’. A child of one’s parents’ first cousin is a ‘second cousin’. The mere reference to ‘cousins’ in a will without further qualification includes first cousins, and ‘half cousins’ include first cousins, first cousins once removed and second cousins: Halsbury’s Laws of Hong Kong, Vol 27, Wills, Probate, Administration & Succession [425.287] note 6. Where no true second cousins exist, a reference to second cousins in a will includes first cousins once and twice removed: [425.287] note 12. Where the testator has no relatives by consanguinity, a reference to cousin in a will may include a wife of a cousin: [425.287] note 11.
