| 释义 | 訊問員 1. An officer of the court or any other person appointed for the purposes of an examination of any person before the examiner. There is no provision in Hong Kong regarding the appointment of examiners. However, a letter of request may be issued to the judicial authorities of a country in which the person is to take his evidence: Evidence Ordinance (Cap 8) s 77E(1). Where a witness or witnesses were to be examined abroad for the purpose of obtaining evidence for use in criminal proceedings in Hong Kong, no one should seek or accept appointment as an examiner, whether sole or joint, unless he or she was independent of both the prosecution and the defence: Liu Sung Wai v HKSAR [1998] 4 HKC 644 (CFA); FWC v FSR [1992] 1 HKC 490 (HC). 2. An external and independent examiner appointed for each subject or group of subjects forming part of the course of studies: University of Hong Kong Ordinance (Cap 1053) s 14.
