释义 | 承兌人 The drawee of a bill of exchange who signs the bill presented by the holder, intending to become bound to the personal primary liability on the bill: Bills of Exchange Ordinance (Cap 19) s 23; Smith v Knox (1799) 3 Esp 46; Philpot v Briant (1828) 4 Bing 717. The acceptor of the bill, by accepting it, engages to pay the bill according to the tenor of the acceptance: Bills of Exchange Ordinance (Cap 19) s 54.
