释义 | 法定轉讓契 An assignment of legal property which complies with all legal requirements. It involves the completion of the contract for the sale of land by payment of the purchase money by the purchaser, the execution and delivery at the same time of an assignment by the vendor and in due course the handling over of such deeds as relate wholly to the property assigned. The form of the assignment is primarily for the purchaser to determine, and the Conveyancing and Property Ordinance provides a statutory form of assignment and an instrument in this form is sufficient in regard to form and expression: Halsbury’s Laws of Hong Kong, Vol. 16, Land [230.0318]. The assignment includes the transfer of the whole of the interest in land held under a Government lease; a legal charge; a lease (other than a Government lease); a surrender; an assent; and every other assurance of land by an instrument: Conveyancing and Property Ordinance (Cap 219) s 2.
