| 释义 | 咨詢性意見 An opinion on the state of the law given by a court on request from a person or body seeking guidance. The courts’ role under the legal system of the Hong Kong SAR is adjudicative and not advisory: Ng Ka Ling (an infant) & Anor v Director of Immigration, Tsui Kuen Nang v Director of Immigration, Director of Immigration v Che [1999] 1 HKC 291 (CFA). The International Court of Justice may give advisory opinions on legal questions on request from the General Assembly or the Security Council of the United Nations: Charter of the United Nations 1945 art 96; Statute of the International Court of Justice arts 65-68. Such opinions are not binding on any state or international organisation.
