| 释义 | 承運人 A person by or on behalf of whom a contract of carriage has been concluded, whether the carriage is actually performed by him or by a performing carrier: Merchant Shipping (Limitation of Shipowner Liability) Ordinance (Cap 434) sch 1 art 1(1)(a). Carrier includes the owner or the charterer who enters into a contract of carriage with a shipper: Carriage of Goods by Sea Ordinance (Cap 462) sch art 1(a). An extensive body of rules contained in the common law and ordinances govern the obligations of common and private carriers. All persons provide any means of transport for passengers or goods are called carrier: Summary Offence Ordinance (Cap 228) s 6B(3); Dangerous Goods Ordinance (Cap 295) s 2.
