| 释义 | 中央處理器 Abbr – CPU. The ‘heart’ of a computer system. The CPU comprises a microprocessor chip containing both the arithmetic or logic unit and the control unit, plus memory units that all function to control, calculate and direct the data to respective peripheral devices such as the hard disk, video card, and sound card. A CPU’s performance may be measured in terms of the number of transistors it contains, the speed with which it can handle data, the number of operations it can calculate or execute per second, and whether it can perform more than one task simultaneously.
