In relation to a registered or provisionally registered ship, a person registered as owner with the Hong Kong Ship Registry: Merchant Shipping (Registration) Ordinance (Cap 415) s 2. Registered owner is regarded as the legal and beneficial owner of all the shares in a ship: Tian Sheng No 8 [2000] 3 HKC 285. 3. Where the ship is chartered by demise, the demise charterer; where the ship is managed by a ship management company, the manager: Merchant Shipping (Safety) (Dangerous Goods and Marine Pollutants) Regulation (Cap 413H) s 1(1).
