Where a barrister was struck off the roll voluntarily, the court has the inherent jurisdiction to restore that barrister on the roll on his application: In the matter of a Barrister and In the matter of the inherent jurisdiction of the Court (HCMP 3758/93, unreported). It is necessary for the applicant for re-admission to satisfy the court that the person is a fit and proper person to be restored to the Roll and that the events leading to the application to be struck off the roll did not make the applicant permanently unfit to practise as a solicitor: Re Duffy (HCMP 2579/87, unreported).
