Objects contrary to public policy include paying fines of imprisoned criminals (Thrupp v Collett (No 1) (1858) 26 Beav 125, 53 ER 844), promoting revolution in a friendly foreign state (Habershon v Vardon (1851) 4 De G & Sm 467), propagating doctrines subversive to morality (Thornton v Howe (1862) 31 Beav 14, 54 ER 1042). 2. A trust that has an immoral or inappropriate purpose. Such trust cannot be enforced at equity: Li Hung Chan v Wong Woon Heung (alias Wong Yuen) (1950) 34 HKLR 213.
