A system by which accumulated money bet on a horse or greyhound race is evenly distributed to those who correctly nominate the actual outcome; a scheme of pari-mutuel betting. Ordinary race, jockey or hunt clubs which organise meetings for horse or pony races in Hong Kong may, with the written permission of the Chief Secretary for Administration and subject to such conditions as he may see fit to impose, conduct totalisator or pari-mutuel betting on the race course premises on such races: Betting Duty Ordinance (Cap 108) s 3(1). 就馬匹競賽或犬隻競賽投注系統而言，累積的投注款額會按正確地命中實際結果的人平分；以大獎平分的方式進行投注。一般的賽會、賽馬會或狩獵會在香港舉辦小馬競賽集會或其他馬匹競賽集會，經政務司司長書面准許，可在政務司司長認為適宜施加的條件規限下，在賽馬場的處所就該等賽事舉辦電算機投注或彩池投注：《博彩稅條例》（第 108章）第3(1)條。另見 Bet。n.
