单词 Money market
The network of corporations, financial institutions, investors and governments, which deals with the flow of short term funds. These funds are usually short term financial assets which are close substitutes for money and are known as money market instruments or securities. They can be quickly converted into money. When a business is in need of cash for a short period until a substantial payment arrives, or when a bank desires to invest money that depositors may withdraw at any moment, or when a government endeavours to meet its payroll in the face of major seasonable fluctuations in tax receipts, the short-term liquidity transactions occur in the money market: Levinson Guide to Financial Markets (3rd Ed), The Economist p 37. See also Asset.
Levinson Guide to Financial Markets (3rd Ed), The Economist p 37。另見 Asset。
