释义 | 代替 To replace one thing with another. Succession - In probate law, where a gift is not given to the original class for which it was intended, but instead it is given to a substituted class: for example Christopherson v Naylor (1816) 1 Mer 320. Substituted gifts fail if the original donees are dead at the time of substitution: Re Wood's Will (1862) 31 Beav 323.
