The following proceedings shall be commenced with the leave of court: a body corporate acting without a solicitor (The Rules of the High Court (Cap 4A) O 5 r 6(2); The Rules of the District Court (Cap 336H) O 5A r 2); actions against a company when a winding-up order has been made against it (Companies Ordinance (Cap 32) ss 186, 325; Halsbury’s Laws of Hong Kong, Vol 6, Companies and Corporation [95.1338]), service of writ out of jurisdiction (The Rules of the High Court (Cap 4A) O 11 r 1(1)), cases involving vexatious litigants (High Court Ordinance (Cap 4) s 27(1)), cases concerning the liability of persons involved in the removal or detention of any person under the Mental Health Ordinance (Cap 136) (The Rules of the High Court (Cap 4A) O 32 r 9; Mental Health Ordinance (Cap 136) s 69).
