释义	損害原則 A rule of statutory construction, also referred to as the rule in Heydon’s Case (1584) 3 Co Rep 7a, 76 ER 637, requiring the construction of an ambiguous word or phrase in a statute in the light of the ‘mischief’ or ‘defect’ in the existing law which the statute was intended to remedy. This rule is closely allied with the purpose rule: HKSAR v S Space Design (HK) Co Ltd [1997] 3 HKC 691.
