单词 Bank bill
A discounted bank-accepted bill of exchange; a short-term borrowing facility guaranteed by a bank. A bank bill resembles a cheque drawn by a borrower who seeks funds from a bank. It is a promise by the borrower to pay the face value of the bill to the bank on a specified future date, usually 90 to 180 days ahead. In return, the bank advances the funds required. It buys the bill at a discount and credits the borrower’s account with the discounted amount, imposing bank and other changes. The discount is calculated by applying to the face value of the bill the discount rate that is current for bills due to be paid around the same time. On the due date, the face value of the bill must be repaid to the bank. See also Bank bill future; Bill of exchange; Discount.
另見 Bank bill future; Bill of exchange; Discount。
