| 释义 | 異端邪說 An opinion or intellectual position at variance with the official doctrinal position of a particular church. Within the Catholic Church four elements must be verified to constitute formal heresy: valid baptism, external profession of being a Christian (otherwise the person becomes an apostate), unambiguous denial of a truth which according to Church teaching has been revealed by God, and subjective recognition of the obligation to believe.
