| 释义 | 預備會議 In relation to an arbitration, a meeting between the parties to a dispute and the arbitrator before the formal hearing commences, to discuss and resolve preliminary and interlocutory matters, and to clarify the issues to be addressed. Matters discussed in a preliminary conference may include challenges to the nomination of the arbitrator, the jurisdiction of the arbitrator to determine the dispute, appropriate procedures, financial arrangements, interlocutory matters, and arrangements for the hearing, including legal representation, venue and dates. Any preliminary meetings form part of the arbitration, so the arbitrator must comply with the arbitral duty to conduct the arbitration fairly, and should record and publish minutes of the matters discussed.
