| 释义 | 確認；進一步確定 A description of the increase of the price quoted by a contractor in a lump sum contract subject to rise and fall, where the contractor bears the risk of cost fluctuations. A contractor ‘firms up’ the tender price, in order to convert these fluctuations in price into a fixed price, by taking the extra cost into account. A proprietor, however, may prefer to assume the risk of rise and fall, rendering unnecessary the need for the contractor to firm up the price.
