| 释义 | 客戶獨立帳戶 In relation to a securities or futures dealer, an account that is established and maintained with (a) an authorised financial institution; or (b) any other person approved by the Securities and Futures Commission, either generally or in a particular case: Securities and Futures (Client Money) Rules (Cap 571I) r 4. The Securities and Futures Commission may make rules as to (1) the requirement for licensed corporations and their associated entities that receive or hold client money to establish and maintain segregated accounts in Hong Kong for deposit of such money within one business day of receipt (r 4); (2) the circumstances in which client money may be paid out of segregated accounts (r 5); (3) the manner in which interest on client money held in segregated accounts is to be dealt with (r 6); (4) the requirement to pay money other than client money out of segregated accounts (r 10). Failure to comply with this requirement to establish a segregated account is a serious type of omission, subject to criminal sanctions: A-G v Hanwitt Ltd [1983] 2 HKC 567.
