释义	法官席 1. The place in court where the judge or judges sit. Where a judge is ‘on the bench’ the court is sitting and court etiquette applies. 2. Judicial office. When a person is first appointed as a judge, he or she is said to have been ‘elevated to the bench’. 3. The court. That is, the presiding judge, or where more than one judge is sitting, one, some or all of the presiding judges. A question ‘from the bench’ is a question from the judge or one of the judges. 4. Issued by a judge. For example, a bench warrant.
