释义	共同被告人 A defendant to an action alleged to be jointly or severally liable with another defendant or other defendants in the same action. Two or more persons may be joined together in one action as co-defendants: The Rules of the High Court (Cap 4A) O 15 r 4(1). Where a person is jointly and severally liable with a defendant in an action, that person need not be made a co-defendant to the same action. Nevertheless, the position may be different where persons are jointly, but not severally, liable under a contract, and relief is claimed against some but not all of those persons in an action in respect of a contract: O 15 r 4(3).
