| 释义 | 法定權益 The legal, as opposed to beneficial, interest in property. Under the system of common law and equity, the legal title in property can be separated from its beneficial interest. A legal interest is a right in rem (ie, it is enforceable against anyone), while an equitable interest confers only a right in personam. In Hong Kong, the term ‘legal estate’ and ‘legal interest’ are often used interchangeably to denote the interest of the Government lessee and that of the sub-lessee.
