释义 | 委託 1. A commission or judicial order by which a party is assigned or entrusted to perform or not perform certain acts. A mandate includes an official instruction from a court directing the officer responsible to enforce a judgment, sentence, or decree. It also includes the power of attorney by which a person authorises another to perform certain acts on behalf and in the name of the former. 2. Formerly, territory separated from Germany and Turkey at the end of the 1914-18 war and placed under the control of the victorious powers acting under the supervision of the League of Nations: Covenant of the League of Nations 1919 art 22. The rights and obligations of the mandataries with respect to each territory were agreed upon and confirmed by the mandatary and the League Council. Other mandates were created at the end of the 1939-45 war with respect to territories liberated from Japan. Mandated territories have been converted into trust territories within the United Nations: Charter of United Nations 1945 Chs XII, XIII.
