释义	會議／集會 An assembly or gathering. Corporations - A coming together of persons to decide a particular issue or to discuss some issue in which they have a common interest, usually by voting. A single person cannot constitute a meeting unless a statute or a court provides otherwise: Sharpe v Dawes (1876) 2 QBD 26. A specified number of persons as stated in the articles of association of a company or in the relevant legislation must be present to constitute a valid meeting. This is known as a quorum: Companies Ordinance (Cap 32) sch 1 table A pt 1 regs 55, 56. Informal encounters could not be a valid meeting of the board of directors: Barron v Potter [1914] 1 Ch 895. Under the Companies Law, there are general meetings of shareholders and meetings of directors.
