释义 | 商品化使用權 Entertainment industry term for the exploitation of a name, persona, or image by linking an otherwise unassociated product or service to that name, persona, or image. Merchandising rights are not ‘rights’, as such. Rather, the granting of such ‘rights’ is an implied undertaking by the person associated with the name, persona or image that they will not use areas of law such as passing off, trade practices, or consumer protection to take action against the person granted the ‘rights’.
