| 释义 | 工程監督 In a major construction project, the proprietor’s skilled on-site representative, who assists the contract administrator in supervising the performance of the contract. Many standard form contracts in the construction industry provide for the appointment of a clerk of works: Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster Area Health Authority v Wettern Compoites [1985] 1 All ER 346. Under Hong Kong’s RICS (The former Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Hong Kong Branch) and HKIA (The Hong Kong Institute of Architects) forms, the clerk of works acts as inspector for the ‘employer’ (being the client, owner, developer or the Government) of a particular project. Frequently they will work under the direction of the site architect and fulfil a wide range of duties including record control, quality control, supervision of the contractor, reporting and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and contract conditions.
