释义	委託人／客戶／當事人 An individual, corporation, trust or estate, which consults or retains a solicitor (or other professionals such as accountants, mediators and arbitrators) and for which the latter is entitled to charge a fee for services so rendered. A fiduciary relationship exists between solicitor and client and attracts professional privilege. Within the Hong Kong legal profession, solicitors often instruct barristers in which case the latter takes responsibility for any requisite court appearances. In these instances, the solicitor becomes the client of the barrister.
