| 释义 | 意見證據 Any inference drawn or belief formed from observed facts for the purpose of proving or disproving an issue between parties. Under the exclusion rule of opinion evidence, a witness normally would not be allowed by the court to give his opinion on matters which required special skill or knowledge unless he is an expert accepted by the court in such matters. However, the court sometimes prepares to accept non-expert opinion provided that it is a compendious method of ascertaining observed facts: R v Chiu Chun Chuen [1973-1976] HKC 456.
