| 释义 | 慈善信託 A trust which is set up exclusively for charitable purposes: Ip Cheung Kwok v Ip Siu Bun [1988] 1 HKC 437. The court may provide a relief, make an order or give a direction, as it thinks just relating to a charitable trust upon an application made to it: Trustee Ordinance (Cap 29) s 57A. Where application is made to the court by the Secretary for Justice in the case of a charitable trust, the court may appoint a judicial trustee in place of all or any existing trustees: s 63. A charitable trust must fall within one of the charitable purposes in order to be valid. Also known as ‘public trust’.
