| 释义 | 反抗法院命令的 The resistance to lawful authority manifested as failure to obey an order of the court; persistent and obstinate refusal to acknowledge a lawful summons. Hence, exhibiting contumacy like stubborn, perverse and insubordinate behaviour. Such acts are strictly speaking, not the wilful disobedience of a summons or court order or other lawful authority under circumstances in which the person feels completely justified for his actions, but occurs where there is absolutely no reasonable belief by the individual for so doing, or offers no reasonable excuse therein, hence, a contumacious act is deemed criminal contempt as distinct from civil contempt.
