释义 | 全程提單 Abbr – TBL A bill of lading issued when a carrier engages multimodal or combined carriage in separate stages such as road haulier, air carrier, inland waterway operator or railway operator where the sea journey forms only part of the complete transit of the cargo from the shipper to the consignee, and covers the goods for the entire voyage from the port of loading to port of destination: Wiener and Co v Wilsons and Furness-Leyland Line Ltd (1910) 11 Asp MLC 413 (CA). There must be a term expressly authorising the carrier to tranship or subcontract the carriage of the goods. The carrier who issues the through bill of lading will be responsible for all of the claims arising from the carriage: Hansson v Hamel & Horley Ltd [1922] 2 AC 36, (1922) 10 Ll L Rep 507. A bank will accept a through bill of lading as good tender, provided that the bill covers the entire voyage and allows, or does not prohibit, transhipment: Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (1993 Revision) art 23(b)-(d).
