单词 Junk bond
A bond with a speculative credit-rating of BB or lower by Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s rating systems. The increased risk of default means that the issuer will typically offer a relatively high interest rate, and the potential for repayment depends on the issuer’s fortunes more than general economic bonds, thus junk bonds tend to be less susceptible to interest rate movements than more highly rated bonds. Junk bonds are usually issued in leveraged buyouts and takeovers by companies with questionable credit strength. See also Investment grade share.
