释义 | 消費者 One who uses a commodity or service for private consumption. A person deals as a consumer in a contract for the supply of services and goods if the person neither makes the contract in the course of business and the other party to the contract does make the contract in the course of a business and the goods passing or the services provided under or in pursuance of the contract are a type ordinarily supplied or provided for private use, consumption or benefit: Supply of Services (Implied Terms) Ordinance (Cap 457) s 4(1); Unconscionable Contracts Ordinance (Cap 458) s 3(1). However, on a sale by auction or by competitive tender, the buyer is not to be regarded as dealing as a consumer: Unconscionable Contracts Ordinance (Cap 458) s 3(2). A consumer can be a natural person, a body corporate, limited or unlimited company.
