A person who has bought securities expecting a rise in prices. 3. A term signifying ownership of securities. 4. The market position of a futures contract buyer whose purchase obligates the buyer to accept delivery unless the contract is liquidated with an offsetting sale. 5. A trader who has bought futures contracts or who owns actuals that are unhedged.
